Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Governor of the Capital City and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar S.Amarsaikhan became acquainted with the construction progress of the 4th maternity hospital located in Yarmag.
Due to issues with financing, the hospital complex that meets international standards is at risk of being put into operation at a later date. With a concession tender announced by the National Development Agency, an agreement was signed with ‘Tomo Building’ LLC for MNT 25.7 billion in July 2017. Despite having initially agreed to complete the construction work with financing from the company, the Ministry of Health considered additional work was necessary as the employer. However, as the financing issue for the additional work has yet to be solved, it became unable to complete the construction work.
Governor S.Amarsaikhan highlighted the 4th maternity hospital as an example of some of slowing down works being done in the capital city.
He said, “Due to budget issues, the completion date for the construction work has been postponed twice in April 2018 and November 2019. I will personally introduce the issue to the Prime Minister. By any measures, the maternity hospital will be put into operation within the first two quarters,” expressing that he will give special attention in solving the budgeting issue.
Putting the hospital into operation is highly significant in reducing the load of maternity hospitals in the capital city. Alongside meeting international standards, the hospital is to have 140 beds for children and 160 maternity beds.
