Mongolia and Vietnam to cooperate in defense sector

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/.At its meeting today, on January 2, Standing Committee on Security and Foreign Policy discussed and supported the draft resolution on the intergovernmental cooperation between Mongolia and Socialist Republic of Vietnam in defense sector.
Mongolia has been broadening the bilateral relations with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the field of defense in addition to politics, trade, economy and
culture. Defense Minister of Mongolia N.Enkhbold emphasized that expanding the
bilateral cooperation in defense sector is significant to intensify mutual
understanding at regional level and strengthen the capacity of armed forces of
the two countries.
During his official visit to Socialist Republic of Vietnam on November 27-30, 2019, Defense Minister N.Enkhbold signed the draft resolution of intergovernmental agreement. The Minister noted that the approval of the resolution will provide legal environment for developing the cooperation in defense sector and expand United Nations Peacekeeping training, interns, military hospital, military training, scientific researches and defense industry.
70 percent of the participating members in the meeting supported the draft.
