Japanese specialists give safety management seminar at Waste Water Treatment Plant

On November 29, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Ulaanbaatar Water Supply and Sewage Authority (USUG) organized a seminar to introduce Japan’s experiences on safety management at wastewater treatment plant including related laws, its enforcement and structural frameworks.
The seminar particularly
aimed at enhancing the capacity for safety engineers in Central Waste Water
Treatment Plant, USUG through sharing experiences of Tokyo
Sewerage Bureau in risk assessment and accident prevention measures.
Ms. Eriko Tamura, Chief
Representative of JICA Mongolia Office, Mr.Kinji Yamada, Sewerage Professional
Engineer, Mr.Odkhuu, Head of Engineering Policy Department of USUG, and other
related officials and engineers from both sides participated in the seminar.
In the past years, the USUG and JICA have been expanding partnership in the water sector especially in the line of water distribution, transmission and supply through series of project implementation. On this occasion, with the cooperation request from USUG to improve its safety engineer’s knowledge on safety management of the wastewater treatment plant, JICA is facilitating this seminar in collaboration with Bureau of Sewerage Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
The seminar served as a proper
platform for safety engineers of knowledge building skill sharing in risk
assessment and accident prevention measures.
