Parliament approves resolution on Child Allowance

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. At the plenary meeting of the Parliament on November 28, the Parliament approved a draft parliamentary resolution ‘Some actions on Child Allowance’ with 65 percent votes.
The approval enables the distribution of this monthly benefit of MNT20,000 to children aged 0-18, whose parents and caregiver applied for the allowance, beginning from January, 2020.
In May 2018, Parliament had approved a resolution on increasing the coverage of child allowance to reach 80 percent of total children of the country.
The distribution of the benefit to 80 percent or some 900 thousand children used to require an annual budget of some MNT370 billion.
