Second annual horse riding festival takes place in Sukhbaatar aimag

Sukhbaatar /MONTSAME/. The second ‘Agtana Khureet’ horse-riders’ and international photography festival took place in Dariganga soum of Sukhbaatar aimag. The event held by the magnificent Shiliin Bogd Mountain on November 16 and 17 brought together around 600 guests and participants. Horse riders from Sukhbaatar, Khentii, Dornod, Dornogobi as well as horse trainers and horse riders from Inner Mongolia of China attended this year’s festival.
A photo exhibition displaying the best photos of the last year’s festival, photos of horse heritage and culture and exhibits from the Ethnography Museum of Sukhbaatar aimag was put on view during the festival. In addition, fireworks, cultural performances and traditional folk dancing events were organized.
The Citizen’s Representative Khural of Sukhbaatar aimag hosts the annual event as part of the winter tourism plan with the purpose of promoting and preserving the horse culture and inherit it to the future generations.
