AmCham organizes workshop on eco-transport in Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Mongolia, in collaboration with the Mongolian Automobile Distributors' Association (MADA), organized a workshop on ‘Development of Eco-Transport in Mongolia’, involving key stakeholders from the Ministry of Road and Transport Development and Ministry of Environment and Tourism and Ulaanbaatar City municipality.
The participants discussed key policy issues such as import of right-hand drive vehicles, tax policies for old and new cars, recycling of old car batteries, environmental protection etc., and agreed on some of the potential solutions to these issues.
As a result of the workshop, AmCham is developing a position paper, “The critical issues of auto industry and recommended solutions” based on valuable feedback and comments from the public officials, AmCham Auto Machinery Committee and MADA members. The position paper will be presented to government officials and policy-makers and distributed to AmCham members.
