Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The Government of Mongolia has recently made a decision to demolish the building of the Museum of Natural History, which had been closed to the public since June 2013 for reconstruction. Prior to this decision, on August 3, the Government also announced the decision to merge the Central Museum of Mongolian Dinosaurs with the Museum of Natural History.

According to the decision, all exhibits and artifacts kept at the Museum of Natural History will move to the Dinosaur Museum, where more than 1000 exhibits are currently displayed. Therefore, in the near future the Dinosaur Museum will be enriched with collections from the Natural History Museum. Founded in 1924, the Museum of Natural History was one of the leading museums in Mongolia and the number of annual visitors reached 150 thousand when it closed its door.
