Mongolia-Russia-China Tourism Ministerial Meeting taking place
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The fourth Meeting of the Tourism Ministers of Mongolia, Russia and China is taking place in Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia, China on June 22-25. A Mongolian delegation headed by State Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Tourism Ts.Tsengel is attending the forum, making proposals on increasing variety and quality of tourism products of the Tea Road, reflecting this matter in policies of the three states, enhancing safety of tourists, facilitating travel conditions, and implementing joint marketing activities such as offering and promoting tourism products of the three countries to citizens from other countries.
Moreover, the delegation
held bilateral meetings and took part in forums and discussions, introducing
Mongolia’s policies and measures for tourism development and exchanging views
on the issue of promoting trilateral tourism cooperation and joint projects and
programs.
Russia and China play major roles in the tourism market of Mongolia. In 2018, the number of Russian tourists to Mongolia increased to 129,094 or by 20.7 percent and Chinese tourists - to 163.991 or by 13.8 percent. Therefore, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism has been attaching great importance to the trilateral meeting.
The meeting is aimed
at ensuring active implementation of decisions made at the fourth meeting of
heads of state of Mongolia, Russia, and China and intensifying concrete
trilateral tourism cooperation. At the meeting, the three parties introduced
the actions taken and to be taken for expansion of the trilateral tourism
cooperation and signed a protocol. On the sideline of the meeting, more events including ‘Tea Road’ culture
and tourism development forum, bilateral meetings, parallel sessions and
exhibition are taking place.
