Mongolian football team wins silver medal

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ Mongolian football team won a silver medal at the 15th Special Olympics World Summer Games taking place in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.


Yesterday, March 19, Mongolian team played for gold, but was defeated by Pakistani team by 1:0. Before the final, Mongolian team won New Zealand by 5:4, China by 4:0 and the Bahamas by 2:1.  


Mongolia is being represented by 28 athletes in the Special Olympics and has grabbed 12 medals so far. About 7500 athletes of 190 countries are competing in 24 kinds of sport in the Special Olympics which will conclude on March 22.
