Senior parliamentarians convene on Constitution’s Day

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ Senior members of then-People’s Great Khural, who partook in adoption of new democratic Constitution of Mongolia, convened at State House on January 13 on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the democratic Constitution.
With a
purpose to publicize and enforce the new democratic Constitution, the members
established ‘Association of Democratic Constitution Makers’ 12 years ago, in
which a total of 250 members of then-People’s Great Khural joined.
At the
meeting, President of the association J.Gombojav and executive director Ch.Bat-Erdene reported the association’s activities, further objectives and
plan and heard opinions of its members.
The members
suggested working actively for amending the Constitution and laws on Political Parties
and Election while discussing several issues, including establishing an official
working group on amendment of the Constitution, by involving representations from
political parties, non-governmental organizations, civil societies and citizens,
and submitting a Bill on the Heritage of Constitution to the Parliament.
