MNT 357.3 billion outflows for Tsagaan sar celebration

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The National Statistics Office reports that MNT 357.3 billion outflows for celebration of Tsagaan Sar Holiday. Specifically, imported goods for gifts make up about 80 percent of the total gifts of the holiday.
According to the statistics, over 64 percent of the total households or 572.6 thousand households celebrate Tsagaan Sar widely and each household is estimated to spend MNT 1.5 million for food and gifts at a minimum. It means the households spend approximately MNT 845.2 billion for the Tsagaan Sar on the national level.
The National Statistics Office addressed in their report that if Mongolians choose gifts made in Mongolia, it will be significant to retain the money at home, support national producers, reduce unemployment and increase the purchasing power of the national currency.
