Students of vocational training and production centers to get stipends
SocietyUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ At its
regular meeting, the Cabinet decided today to give monthly stipend worth MNT100,000
to every student of vocational education and training institutions.
Students of 2.5-year and one-year
day-time study of vocational education and students of 3 and 1.5-year day-time study
of technical education will receive the stipend.
Previously, the stipend used to be given to students based on their turnouts only. But now both of attendance
and achievement marks will be considered. For instance, if a student gets ‘D’
mark and has attendance of over 75 percent, a stipend worth MNT70,000 will be
received. However, if a student did not attend classes of over 33 hours, or
one fourth of total classes, he/she will not get any stipend regardless of
having better marks.
In academic year of 2018-2019, there are over
37 thousand students studying in technical education training and vocational
education and training institutions.
