Plastic bags to be banned next year

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Sale, use, import and production of plastic bags are to be banned starting from March 1, 2019, according to a decree by the Minister of Minister of Environment and Tourism.
The Customs General Administration, General Agency for Specialized Inspection and other relevant authorities will monitor the implementation of this decision.
Minister of Environment and Tourism N.Tserenbat said “According to the decree, plastic bags thinner than 0.035 mm used for packaging will be banned. Thus, we are starting the policy of limiting all sources of negative impact on the environment. The early statement is an opportunity for citizens and importers to prepare for the new circumstances.”
