Mongolia claims ten medals at Yoshida Cup in Japan

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A Mongolian team grabbed ten medals at an International Freestyle Wrestling Tournament named after Saori Yoshida, a legendary wrestler of Japan and three-time Olympic champion and 13-time world champion, took place in Tsu, Japan on November 3-4.


Organized for the fourth year, the tournament involved over 800 wrestlers from Mongolia, Japan, Canada, the USA and Norway. Some 21 wrestlers coached by P.Chuluunbaatar, S.Munkhduuldakh, B.Nyambayar and B.Erdenebold represented Mongolia at the tournament, claiming one gold, seven silver and two bronze medals.


In junior category, N.Batzorig, J.Dalaidorj, O.Dondov, D.Enkhdagina, and A.Davaajargal won the silver medals whereas the bronze medal went to E.Odzaya. The gold medal was claimed by N.Anudari in youth category where two silver medals were harvested by B.Enkhzul and Khongorzul and a bronze by U.Purevsuren. Some of the wrestlers won their medals for the third or even the fourth time.
