Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The 60th anniversary of the Mongolian Children’s Palace took place on October 19. A celebratory concert as well as a conference was held for the anniversary.

Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh, Deputy Mayor J.Batbayasgalan, representative of Citizens’ Representative Meeting S.Munkhchuluun as well as directors and staff of several generations, and celebrities, who graduated from the Children’s Palace attended the event.

Director of the Mongolian Children’s Palace B.Tsengelmaa said, “In the course of this 60 years, over 130,000 children attended courses at the Mongolian Children’s Palace. We have lost count of the number of children who became actors, athletes and well-known social figures later on. Our students having success in participating in international children’s festivals is a way of promoting our national arts and culture to the world.

Discovering children’s talent and helping them develop it as well as protecting them is the duty of parents, teachers, educational organizations, and even the government.”

PM U.Khurelsukh also gave remarks, “I congratulate and give my dearest gratitude to the teachers and staff of the Mongolian Children’s Palace, who are discovering talents of the thousands of children--our future generations, and largely contributing in helping them develop into an active patriotic member of society. I must hereby note that the government will be aiding the Children’s Palace in repairs and renovation with MNT200 million. As the PM, as well as a father, I will continuously support the operations of the Children’s Palace for the better future.”

4,500 children attend 32 courses at the Mongolian Children’s Palace annually. With the support of the Japanese Government and the Rotary International, a science course, which includes mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology, has also been recently opened.
