UNFAO to render all-round support to agriculture sector

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On August 9, Vinod Kumar Ahuja, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization Representative presented his credential letter to Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry B.Batzorig and had a meeting.
Mr. Vinod thanked the Minister for his time and expressed his pleasure for having an opportunity to work for Mongolians.
The Minister talked on the Ministry's stance on cooperation in livestock health, especially preventive measures. The Ministry launched works on veterinary prevention and improvement of breed of livestock throughout the country, the Minister pointed out while expressing willingness to expand cooperation more in this direction.
Furthermore they talked about collaborating in implementing project and program on creating forest zones with aid from Global Environment Fund and exchanged opinions on enforcing the Law on Animal Health as well as adopting the law on Pastureland by the Parliament.
