Establishment of Military field museum ongoing in Khalkh Gol

Dornod/MONTSAME/ Specialists from Dornod aimag’s Local Museum and ‘Victory’ Museum of Khalkh Gol are co-working to establish a Field Museum of Military in Khalkh Gol soum of the aimag.
There are many memorials and remains of military artifacts that have historical connections with the Khalkh Gol battle, occurred 80 years ago in Khalkh Gol area. In particular, old fighter aircraft and bulk of weapons are found there.
It was decided to found the museum at Remizov Heights, covering an area with radius of three kilometers. It marks the spot where a 149th motorized rifle regiment commanded by Major I. M. Remizov had many fierce battles against a Japanese assault.
