GMIT’s extension works to be financed with KFW

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On April 17, B.Delgerjargal, chief of the Mining Policy Department of the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry, met delegates of Germany’s KFW.

During the meeting, they discussed an issue to implement an extension works of German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT) with a KFW’s soft loan.

B.Delgerjargal said, “Training professional staff and strengthening training capacity of universities are prioritized to develop mining sector, a main pillar of Mongolia’s economy. Mongolian government pays special attention on creating a possibility for youth to obtain world class engineering education in the home country and prepare highly educated professionals with international standard training. For this purpose, the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industries established a Memorandum of Cooperation with the GMIT. Therefore, we support the issue to implement extension works of GMIT with KFW’s financing.”

The sides expressed commitment to make efforts to expand Mongolia-Germany multilateral cooperation.
