Mining Minister stresses to operate within the law

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On November 23, Mining and Heavy Industry Minister D. Sumyabazar met representatives of China’s ‘Shin Shin’ LLC.

At the meeting, the Minister stressed that foreign companies, operating in the territory of Mongolia, must operate in compliance with relevant laws and legislations. “In addition, the companies need to hire Mongolians, train them and conduct operations friendly to local development and environment,” he added.

Shin Shin LLC’s general director Li Jian pledged to work within the frame of Mongolian laws and legislations, and informed that the company has a goal to develop eco-friendly and accountable mining. He also said that the company is now encountering a  problem of power shortage.

D. Sumyabazar responded that he would discuss with relevant officials about this matter and resolve it in the nearest future. The Minister asked the company to introduce how much investment will be added to state and local budgets as the energy problem is solved. He also assigned to build a paved road to transport minerals it excavates.

Shin Shin LLC holds a mining license on Ulaan and Mukhar metal ore deposits in Dashbalbar soum, Dornod aimag.
