Cabinet makes amendment to extractive industry transparency

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ An amendment was made to the Governmental Resolution of July 04, 2012 on some measures to be taken for ensuring the transparency in extractive industries, at the Cabinet Meeting on September 20.
Specifically, soum and district sub-council’s budget will be placed in the state and local budgets from 2019 in order to maintain transparency of mineral resource use and exploration in designated aimags and soums.
The amendment states that the information regarding works in mineral and oil fields will be delivered from the exploration stage through sub-councils or Citizen’s Representatives Khural.
