First woman in space Valentina Tereshkova to visit Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The first women to travel into space is Soviet-born V.V.Tereshkova who is also Russia's first female general and cosmonaut, engineer and politician.  She was selected from more than 400 applicants and five finalists to pilot Vostok 6, on June 16, 1963. Mongolian parliament member L.Bold met with her on June 23, during his visit to Russia at the invitation of V.V.Tereshkova, member of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. 
 
At the meeting, MP L.Bold handed over 'Perpetual glory’ award of the ‘New Mongolia Initiative' non-government organization, which is headed by himself, to Ms. V.V.Tereshkova.
 
Expressing her gratitude to MP L.Bold, Russian cosmonaut V.V.Tereshkova said that “Russia is ready to cooperate with Mongolia again on flying Mongolian cosmonaut into space. "Many years ago, I visited Mongolia and still remember the vast steppe and calm days of Mongolia”.

Also, L.Bold invited Ms. V.V.Tereshkova to visit Mongolia on behalf of the 'New Mongolia Initiative' NGO. In response. The first women in space V.V.Tereshkova received the invitation and confirmed to visit Mongolia this summer.

Recently, American aviation engineer, retired colonel and NASA astronaut,  member of the famous Apollo 11 spacecraft crew, Buzz Aldrin visited Mongolia at by the invitation of the NGO.
