Foreign Minister Ts.Munkh-Orgil visits EU

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On May 2, Ts.Munkh-Orgil, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia  paid an official visit to the European Union. Within the framework of the visit, the Foreign Minister met with Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the Commission and paid a courtesy call on Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission. 
 

 
Also, Foreign Minister Ts.Munkh-Orgil met with representatives of the European Union, including Iveta Grigule, member of the European Parliament and head of the European Parliament delegation for cooperation with Central Asia and Mongolia, Ms. Maria Acenius, deputy trade commissioner of the European Union and Didier J.L. Reynders, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium and Mongolian nationals residing in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

During the meetings with the heads of the EU, the sides exchanged views on bilateral ties between Mongolia and EU and a wide range of international and regional issues, such as ensuring fulfillment of the Framework Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation between the European Union and Mongolia, amplifying and strengthening of trade and economic cooperation and investment and studying possibilities to facilitate reciprocal travel conditions for both citizens. 

The EU side vowed to give assistance to Mongolia for overcoming economic difficulties and reducing budget deficit within the framework of the Framework agreement and to support Mongolia's improvement of business environment and economic diversification. They also informed that EU representative office will be opened Ulaanbaatar city in the near future.
 


During his meeting with Mongolian nationals residing in the Benelux countries, FM Ts.Munkh-Orgil delivered information about current economic and social situation of Mongolia, Government policy and upcoming Presidential election for them, before answering questions from them.
