Defense Minister orders to hold officials accountable for training accident

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In accordance with a direction given by the Prime Minister, the Council of the Defense Minister convened yesterday, April 19, to discuss the issue of holding accountable certain military officials.
The council tasked the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces (Lieutenant General D.Davaa) to inflict responsibility, pursuant to the related law and regulations, to those officials, who were responsible for the organization of the 350th military unit’s training, during which a battle grenade had exploded and killed two military personnel. The accident happened near the Tavantolgoi military training center, located in Tuv (Central) aimag on April 11.
The headquarters was also obligated to take measures to ensure military discipline, operational safety and prevent further accidents associated with fire arms.
The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Defense Mr. Bat-Erdene Badmaanyambuu.
