Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ State Honored-titled sportswoman and professional mountaineer B.Gangaamaa Friday said she had successfully conquered the Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak of South America.

Headed for South America on December 19 of 2015, B.Gangaamaa said she had conquered the Mount at her second try, becoming thus the eighth Mongolian and fourth Mongolian woman to reach this point. Her partner Uyang Chow from Hong Kong stopped her trip at a height of 5,500 meters.

In 2013, Gangaamaa attacked Mt. Aconcagua together with country people D.Erdenetogtokh and Ch.Terbish, but she could not reach the peak due to some reasons. Only D.Erdenetogtokh continued her attack, becoming the very first Mongolian woman to reach the highest point.

One of the Seven Summits, Mt. Aconcagua is the highest mountain outside of Asia, at 6,960.8 meters, and by extension the highest point in both the Western Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere. It is located in the Andes mountain range, in the Mendoza Province, Argentina, and lies 112 km northwest of its capital, the city of Mendoza.
