Ambassadorial Meeting of the Group of Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) Held
The Ambassadorial Meeting of the Group of
Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) was held in New York on January 29,
2024.
The Meeting was attended by was attended by
Rabab Fatima, Under Secretary-General and High Representative for the Least
Developed Countries (LDCs), Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), and Small
Island Developing States (SIDS), as well as Gladys Mokhawa, Head of the LLDCs
Group and Permanent Representative of Botswana to the United Nations, also
present were the Permanent Representatives of the member countries of the Group.
During the Meeting, High Representative Rabab Fatima and Head of the LLDCs
Group, Permanent Representative of Botswana to the United Nations Gladys
Mokhawa presented the preparatory work for the 3rd UN Conference of the LLDCs
scheduled to be held in Kigali, Rwanda, from June 18-21, 2025. They also
outlined the events planned for 2024 by the Group, both organized by them and
those in which they will participate.
