Playtime 2017: Rocks the hearts of music lovers
Playtime - one of the biggest music festival in Asia gathered thousands of music lovers at Mongol Shiltgeen in Gachuurt VIllage of Ulaanbaatar between July 7 and 9. Playtime music festival is an annual music festival founded in 2002. With an aim to develop modern music culture, the event features prominent Mongolian and foreign musical artists from various genres of music, including rock, indie and electronic dance music. Inspired by the music wave of late 90’s and early 2000’s, Playtime became a promotional stage for new artists.

President to issue decree on wildfire counter-measures
After working in Batsumber soum, Tuv Aimag, the President held an immediate meeting on current situations of 22 wildfire breakouts around the country.

6 wildfires in Batsumber of Tuv aimag extinguished
On July 16, 6 wildfires in Batsumber soum of Tuv aimag has been fully extinguished thanks to cloud seeding. A team headed by S.Enkhtuvshin, Chairman of the Meteorological and Environmental Monitoring Agency, conducted cloud seeding operations 8 times in the night of 16 and 17 July there. 5 equipment worth of MNT27 million were handed over to the inter-soum forest protection unit.

Military personnel to be mobilized to firefighting
An irregular cabinet meeting was held on 16 July and made decisions on measures to be taken for wildfire fighting. Prime Minister J.Erdenebat instructed to mobilize a number of officers and equipment from the Armed Forces, even though earlier the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) reported such need had not yet been raised. According to the decision, 24 military officers started working on the wildfire scene in Erdene soum of Tuv aimag. Relevant Ministers and authorities were assigned to take the following measures: - To mobilize firefighters and equipment of the Civil Aviation Authority and Ulaanbaatar Railway. - To study and introduce proposals to the Cabinet meeting on purchase of special fire extinguishing aircraft - To grant incentives to people, who are working in firefighting, financing from budget expenditure for public works and services - To make large-size water transporting vehicles, owned by companies and entities prepared and ready - To send additional medical teams to the wildfire region

Camping banned for uncertain period
Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, Mr S.Batbold has issued a direction on banning camping trips and picnics in green zones of Ulaanbaatar due to high risk of forest fires. In accordance, picnics, hiking trips, entry of motor vehicles and other services in the green zones of the city are banned for an unknown period until the level of dryness comes down.

President Kh.Battulga in Batsumber soum of Tuv aimag
Today, President of Mongolia Kh. Battulga is working in Batsumber soum of Tuv aimag, where six wildfires are burning and firefighting operations are being held. He left Ulaanbaatar around 11 am. Earlier or yesterday, President Kh.Battulga, who was on his working trip to Bayankhongor aimag, talked with PM J.Erdenebat about the wildfire situation.

22 wildfires burning nationwide
Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the State Emergency Commission U.Khurelsukh convened an irregular meeting of the State Emergency Commission and discussed the current situation of forest and steppe fires. As of today, July 16, there are 22 wildfires are burning in the country, namely, nine fires in Yeroo, Mandal and Khuder soums of Selenge aimag, five in Batsumber soum of Tuv aimag, one in Erdene soum and each one in Selenge and Gurvanbulag soums of Bulgan aimag. Although, there are five fire points revealed in the areas of Asralt Khairkhan, Artsat Mountain and Ar Matakh in Erdene soum of Tuv aimag, no emergency officers or vehicles could be reached.

PM J.Erdenebat works at scene of wildfire
Yesterday, on 15 July, after the discussion on wildfire situation during an urgent meeting, Prime Minister J.Erdenebat worked at a scene of a wildfire in Tunkhel Village, Mandal soum of Selenge aimag. The PM handed over necessary food and clothing to emergency officials working at the site, informed the Government Media and Public Relations Department.

People donating for wildfire extinguishing operations and fighters
People are worried about the wildfires spread throughout the country and giving donations for extinguishing operations and fire fighters. A group to support fire fighters was established on social media platform and has been organizing a volunteer campaign, collecting food, bottled water and tools for fire extinguishing from yesterday. Cash donation is said to have reached MNT30.3 million and the first donations of items and goods have been brought to some wildfire sites.

PM gives orders concerning wildfires: temporary travel ban in forest areas
On July 15, Prime Minister J.Erdenebat held a hearing on situation of ongoing fires and gave an ordinance to relevant authorities. According to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), there are 21 fires burning in the country, five of which are inaccessible to human beings. More than 700 servants and 30 vehicles are operating on the scenes of 16 wildfires, including in Yeroo, Mandal, Khuder soums of Selenge aimag and Selenge and Khutag-Undur soums of Bulgan aimag. Batsumber soum of Tuv aimag is currently experiencing the most of fires or five in total.  The most areas of the country are being affected by excessive heat and dryness and over 70-80 percent of all fires were caused by human factors and negligence.

Playtime festival to open this evening
Annual ‘Playtime’ festival will open this evening, 14 July at the Mongol Shiltgeen hotel in Gatsuurt village of Ulaanbaatar. It was founded in 2002 and is organized as non-profit live music festival. The festival takes place on summer weekend featuring best of new and established international and Mongolian live music bands.

Japanese House of Representatives’ Speaker T.Oshima to visit Mongolia
Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan Tadamori Oshima will pay official visit to Mongolia on 17-19 July at the invitation of Parliamentary Speaker M. Enkhbold. Speaker T.Oshima will meet with the President of Mongolia the Speaker and Prime Minister of Mongolia. At these meetings, the sides expected to discuss on close cooperation of the parliaments to develop strategic partnership between Mongolia and Japan at bilateral, multilateral and regional levels.
