Euroasian beaver introduced to Ider River basin
The endangered beaver is considered as a significant animal for ecosystem improvement and water level sustainability and therefore with aim to conserve beaver, increase its population and enhance biodiversity, a field survey on favorable relocation area for beavers was also conducted along the basins of Khojuuliin river of Tosontsengel soum, Tegshiin River in Ider soum, Bogd River and Chigestei River in Aldarkhaan soum, besides Ider River. The survey result showed that the head area of Ider River, where three rivers intercross, covering 7.5 sq.km is suitable location for beaver and some 50 beavers have been introduced to the area of Ider river.
