Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ M.Enkhbold, the Chairman of the State Great Khural, received Wednesday Mr Sultan bin Salmeen al-Mansouri, in the State House.

Expressing satisfaction with meeting the Qatari Ambassador, the Speaker said he is pleased with expanding the bilateral relations and cooperation and a regularity of mutual high-level visits. He thanked the Qatari side for paying attention to training Mongolian staff on defense, law and state servants.

“Our ties keep friendly relations and we have a chance to broaden the bilateral cooperation,” he said.
The Speaker pointed out that the inter-parliamentary cooperation has started, emphasizing its importance for expanding the commercial and economic relations.

In response, the Ambassador thanked the Speaker for the audience, and then conveyed to him greetings of Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khulaifi, the Chairman of the Consultative Council (parliament) of Qatar, and invited him to visit Qatar.

“19 years passed since our countries established the diplomatic relations. In this period, our relations have developed well. We think our countries have to boost the cooperation in wider frame,” the Ambassador said. Then he noted about his meeting to share related issues with the Mongolian President, the Foreign Minister and the Minister of Defense.

Mr Sultan bin Salmeen al-Mansouri expressed his aspiration to augment his country’s investment to Mongolia. “There are five agreements established between our governments. I will do my best to completely implement goals reflected in the agreements, to widen the ties and to boost the cooperation in the fields of air transportation, sport and health,” the Ambassador said, and asked the Speaker to support the issue of opening an Embassy in Mongolia.

The Ambassador believes that activating the inter-parliamentary ties will give broad opportunities to exchange information and experiences, to know each other’s achievements in democracy and to expand the trade and economic collaboration. He also briefed about critical conditions in Gulf States.

Noting that Mongolia maintains friendly relations with all Gulf States, Mr Enkhbold said the current critical condition in the area may cause negative effects to unity of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and make the regional security unstable. He said Mongolia wishes the parties could resolve their issue under consensus. He added Mongolia is ready to serve as a mediator to peacefully tackle the matter.

At the end of the meeting, the Speaker supported Qatar's intention to open its Embassy in Mongolia, and then thankfully received the invitation from his counterpart to visit Qatar.
