Mongolia announces nationally determined contribution for Paris Agreement
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. With purpose of tackling climate change, one the pressing global issues, world countries have undertaken nationally determined contributions within in the scope of the Paris Agreement, which sets out to limit global warming to well below 2°C and pursuing efforts to limit it to 1.5°C and aims to strengthen countries' ability to deal with the impacts of climate change and support them in their efforts. Mongolia ratified the Paris Agreement in 2016.

Border checkpoints to be closed on public holidays next week
Dornogobi /MONTSAME/. In compliance with 2004 Mongolia-China intergovernmental agreement on the border ports and their working regimes, border crossing points for auto vehicles will be closed on November 26, the Proclamation Day and November 27, the Day of National Pride.
Prisoner swap deal with Vietnam ratified
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. At its plenary session on November 21, Parliament adopted a bill on ratification of a prisoner exchange agreement between Mongolia and Vietnam, submitted by the government on October 8 this year.
New Governor of central bank appointed
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Yesterday, Parliament dismissed Governor of the Bank of Mongolia N.Bayartsaikhan from his position. On November 22, at its plenary session, the Parliament backed to appoint B.Lkhagvasuren as a new head of the central bank of Mongolia.
Parliament ratifies agreement to establish Asian Forest Cooperation Organization

Mongolia ratifies amendment to World Tourism Organization Statutes
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. A bill on ratifying the amendment to Article 38 of the Statutes of the World Tourism Organization (WTO) was adopted at the Parliament’s plenary session on November 21.
Government of Mongolia ordered to improve Oyu Tolgoi agreements
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On November 21, Parliament unanimously approved a draft resolution aimed at protecting the rights and interests of Mongolian people in the exploitation of Oyu Tolgoi deposits. A total of 46 members of the Parliament present at the session voted in favor of the resolution approval. The resolution has eight articles to ‘improve agreements regarding the Oyu Tolgoi.
Mongolian-Vietnamese 65th diplomatic anniversary marked in Hanoi
On November 18, Mongolian Embassy in Vietnam and Mongolia Friendship Association organized a ceremony and promotional event on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Vietnam in Hanoi city.
Governor of central bank dismissed
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. During the plenary meeting of Parliament session on November 21, Governor of the Bank of Mongolia N.Bayartsaikhan was dismissed from his position.
Chairwoman of Financial Regulatory Commission dismissed
At its regular plenary meeting held today, November 21, Parliament approved dismissal of Chairwoman of the Financial Regulatory Commission (FRC) S.Davaasuren. It is deemed that the FRC has failed to perform its duties to maintain financial market stability, ensure effective law implementation and protect consumers’ interests in a satisfactory manner.
Subregional Capacity Development Workshop with UN-ESCAP held

United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific’s (UN-ESCAP) Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Disaster Risk Reduction Division, together with Transport Division and ESCAP’s North-East Asia Sub-regional Office, and the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries (ITTLLDC) jointly organized the ‘Sub-regional Workshop on ICT Co-deployment along Transport Infrastructure in East and North East Asia Sub-region’ in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on 20 November.

Open discussion held on Ulaanbaatar city budget for 2020
On November 20, an open discussion on Ulaanbaatar city budget for 2020 was organized at the Citizen Hall of the Capital City’s Governor’s Office. As states in the Law on Budget to include proposals and suggestions from its residents when drafting local budgets, the open discussion brought together more than 400 citizens, 40 of them expressed their opinion during the event.
