The Rhythmic Gymnastics Asian Cup wraps up successfully in Ulaanbaatar
On October 25-28, the 1st Rhythmic Gymnastics Asian Cup took place in Ulaanbaatar, selecting its victors. The tournament was organized by the Mongolian Gymnastics Federation (MGF) with the support of the Mongolian Government. Over 100 gymnasts, judges, coaches and officials from 11 countries, such as Taiwan, North Korea, India, Kazakhstan and South Korea, attended the tournament.
Prize winners of Garuda 2018 announced
Today marks the 379th historic anniversary of Ulaanbaatar city. Foundation of present-day Ulaanbaatar city was laid by enthroning Undur Gegeen (High Saint) Zanabazar in 1639 on the bank of Lake Shireet Tsagaan and establishing his residence. The city was settled in the present location in 1778 after changing its location 29 times. The first Constitution of Mongolia in 1924 officially named the capital city of Mongolia as Ulaanbaatar.

In 1995, a set of regulations on the usage of the capital’s emblem and the flag’s design were approved by the Citizens’ Representative Meeting of the capital as the Article 5.1 of the law on the Legal Status of the Capital City stated, “The capital shall have its own flag and coat of arms.”
Xianbei remains, discovered for the first time on display
A research team of the National Museum of Mongolia conducted excavations at the site of Airagiin Gozgor in Jargalant soum of Orkhon aimag. As a result of the research, tombs that display evidence of unique burial ritual that have never been found before were discovered and documented. An exhibition themed ‘Archaeological sites of Airagiin Gozgor’ opened on october 24 at the National Museum of Mongolia to promote scientific significance of the discovery.
