Tax on pine nuts collects MNT2 billion
Arkhangai aimag has put income of MNT2 billion from tax on pine nuts harvesting to the state budget this year. Tax of MNT800 is imposed on each kilo of pine nuts for commercial or production use and MNT500 for household use.

Possibility to save 700 million kWh of electricity revealed
The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) together with the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) made an audit on energy savings of 15 companies and they concluded that total electricity of 260 million kWh worth MNT35 billion could be saved.

NUM offers Massive Open Online Course
The National University of Mongolia (NUM) has acquired a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) platform to give its contributions to improvement of public education, enabling every interested person to study free of charge and help youths to enter universities. On October 25, a presentation of the MOOC was given to students at the NUM.

Government proposes to allocate allowance of MNT 300 thousand to all state servants
The Government has reached to agreement with the International Monetary Fund on allocating single-benefit allowance of MNT 300 thousand to each 192 thousand state servants.

Rate of Mongolian national currency against US dollar has been strengthened slightly. As of today, 1USD equals to MNT2455.42, while it equaled to MNT2455.84 on September 20, weakening by MNT11.42.

Negotiations for additional trilateral agreement launches
Negotiations for the 2017-2018 Additional Trilateral Agreement on Labor and Society started on Tuesday. The Trilateral Labor and Social Agreement was approved by representatives of the Government, the Mongolian Employers’ Federation and the Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions (CMTU) on January 19 of this year. However, CMTU called for the additional agreement, considering that the Government has not fulfilled its duties/ obligations reflected in the agreement, including raising salary and not lowering protection level of citizens. A labor dispute has been raised regarding this issue and employees in education and health sector made several demonstrations demanding to raise their salary. Therefore newly formed Government urgently has started negotiation for making addition to the agreement.

Ulaanbaatar city delegates headed by Mayor S.Batbold have visited the Air Busan company in scope of an official visit to the Republic of Korea. The Air Busan launched direct flight to Ulaanbaatar on June 24, 2016, making it regular twice a week. President of the company Tae Keun Han, First Deputy President Pan Ho Choi welcomed the delegates.
