Events attracting tourists’ interest
VideoAnnual ice festival ‘Blue Pearl -2018’ will be organized on the frozen Khuvsgul Lake on the weekends of March 3-4.
To be held for the 19th time, numerous interesting events and contests will be organized among foreign and domestic tourists when they attend the festival such as horse and dog sledding, motosport parade and competition. In addition, visitors can get acquainted with the lifestyle of reindeer people, bonfire festival and shamanic rituals.
The Ulaanbaatar city Tourism Department, Ulaanbaatar Tourism Association and Mongolian Eagle Hunter's Association will jointly organize the Spring Eagle Festival on March 4-5 at ‘Chinggisiin Khuree’ tour camp.
The biannual festival takes place in Ulaanbaatar in spring and in Bayan-Ulgii province in fall, welcoming domestic and foreign tourists.
The Eagle Festival will be organized in a form of competitions. Eagle hunters participating in the competitions wear their traditional clothes, sit their trained eagle on their arms and enter the festival field riding their hunting horses. The best participants are selected based on specific requirements including how the Kazakh people’s tradition preserved, color and design of clothes and the way how they trained their eagles.
