Ulaanbaatar, March 25, 2024. /MONTSAME/. On January 30, 2024, National Geographic's global community of editors, writers, photographers, and explorers announced the 20 cultural hotspots to visit in 2024.

This year, the Chinggis Khaan National Museum of Mongolia earned a spot on National Geographic's prestigious "Best of the World" list, marking the first time a Mongolian institution has been included. This recognition by international experts solidifies the museum's position as one of Asia's top cultural destinations.

Once only available in written form, the "Secret History of the Mongols" is now on display at the museum. Visitors can delve into the history of Mongolia's kings and nobles, tracing their lineage back to the Khunnu Empire, the first nomadic state of the Mongols.

The Chinggis Khaan Museum immerses visitors in the power of the Great Mongol Empire, displaying how these horseback warriors conquered vast swathes of territory. Beyond their martial prowess, the museum also highlights the Mongols' ingenuity, with exhibits featuring intricate designs and models that demonstrate their advanced blacksmithing skills. Notably, the Chinggis Khaan Museum stands as the 10th largest in Asia, and its construction represents the biggest development in Mongolia's cultural sector in the last century.

These very aspects likely drew the attention of the National Geographic team, known for its world-renowned experts in cultural heritage. The Chinggis Khaan National Museum reported that the team comprised editors, photographers, writers, and explorers with extensive cultural expertise.
