50-bed children’s hospital opens in Bayanzurkh district

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Yesterday, a 50-bed children’s hospital, equipped with the latest medical
equipment, was inaugurated for the 9th, 17th, and 24th sub-districts of Bayanzurkh district.
Built with funding
from the Peace Development Foundation of China, the three-floor hospital is comprised of dental, diagnostic imaging, and inpatient units and the reception area,
covering 800 square meters. In particular, the facility is furnished with state-of-the-art
dental and oral care equipment, ultrasound machine, and neonatal jaundice
screening device and 28 pediatric specialists will provide medical services for
the sub-districts’ 13,345 children under the age of 16.
In his
remarks at the opening ceremony, Governor of the capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar
S.Amarsaikhan said “Bayanzurkh is the biggest district of Ulaanbaatar, with more
than 340 thousand residents, of which over 120 thousand are children under 16. I
am delighted that an international-standard hospital, that will give prompt medical
care and inpatient services to children with 25 types of equipment, is
opening today in a remote ger area”

Development Foundation of China has been undertaking humanitarian projects in
Mongolia, under which it established an ambulatory care facility in Chingeltei
district, a 50-bed children’s hospital in Nalaikh district, and a kindergarten
in Zunmod, Tuv aimag. I would like to express my gratitude for continuing to
cooperate with the city administration on more education and health projects”
added the Mayor.
After attending
the opening of the hospital, Mayor S.Amarsaikhan got acquainted with its ambulatory
unit. He met with the hospital’s staff and wished the best in their future
endeavors.
Present at the opening were member of the Citizens' Representative Khural of the capital city D.Amarbayasgalan, Ambassador of China to Mongolia Xing Haiming, other relevant officials, the hospital’s staff, and the sub-districts’ residents, including children.
