Mongolian delegation takes part in ‘Baikal Tour’ expo in Irkutsk

/MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Environment and Tourism, Tourism Department of the
capital city, Department of Environment and Tourism of Khuvsgul aimag,
Ulaanbaatar Railway joint venture and tour operators represented Mongolia at
the 2019 ‘Baikal Tour’ expo, one of the major tourism events of Eastern
Siberia, held in Irkutsk, Russia on March 28-30.
During the
expo, a regular meeting of the 'Tea Road' International Tourism Association established
for intensification of tourism cooperation among Mongolia, Russia, and China
was held. The meeting discussed the activities to be jointly carried out this
year including organization of the ‘Steppe Wind’ international moto sport
festival.
Moreover,
the Khuvsgul aimag’s Environment and Tourism Department and the Irkutsk Region Tourism Agency
established a Memorandum of Understanding to foster and strengthen their
friendly relations.
Mariya
Badmatsyrenova, Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Buryatia, the Russian
Federation also announced the Khankh – Mond border checkpoint will become an international checkpoint
in 2022. This change could develop Khankh soum of Khuvsgul aimag to a tourism region.
