Ulaanbaatar Declaration signed for environmentally sustainable transport
SocietyUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On October 4, participants of the 11th Intergovernmental Regional Environmentally Sustainable Transport Forum in Asia signed the ‘Ulaanbaatar Declaration’ that aims to create smart cities by amending Kyoto Declaration on promotion of environmentally sustainable transport.
During the forum that is running on October 2-5, 142 participants of 24 countries have focused on implementing optimal ways and policy to overcome socio-economic and environmental challenges occurring in Asian cities due to fast growing population and unorganized urbanization.
At the event, S.Batbold,Governor of the capital city, said “During the 11th forum, Mayors of Asian cities are discussing about pressing issues and their solutions. Every city has own challenges to reduce carbon emissions and improve environmentally sustainable transport and urbanization. I believe that the cities will share their best experiences on these matters further.”
