Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The annual ICT Expo 2018, which was held for the 12th time hosted a series of discussions. On October 2, public and private sectors and business organizations, at an initiative of the Unitel Group, jointly organized a panel discussion themed ‘Customers’ wish and Digital service’ to discuss the digital future. The discussion involved Deputy Director of Bloomberg TV Mongolia B.Batmanlai as the moderator, Member of Parliament N.Uchral, Deputy Head of Cabinet Secretariat B.Bat-Erdene, CEO of Unitel Group D.Enkhbat and Director of Sant High School Z.Enkhmunkh as the panelists.
MP N.Uchral emphasized the importance of coordinating digital transformation of the public and private sectors and that the government shall devise a strategy for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, mentioning the formulation of a law on national database is in demand.
Deputy Head of Cabinet Secretariat B.Bat-Erdene noted the government shall make a risk assessment prior to the digital transformation and besides public organizations and private entities, citizens should be prepared for self-service. He also remarked number of public servants, which is counted to be 192 thousand could be reduced by 30-40 percent and traffic jam could be decreased by 70-85 percent following the successful digital transformation.
CEO of Unitel Group D.Enkhbat said the digital future should be viewed as an opportunity to compete but not a whole new concept, highlighting the significance of ensuring database security. He also expressed readiness to collaborate with governmental organizations in implementing a project that will show successful realization of the digital transformation with the financing of the Unitel Group.
Director of Sant High School Z.Enkhmunkh said data service system in education sector has great role in collecting data and establishing ties between parents and teachers, and many jobs will be created in information technology sector under the transformation.
