Eco schools granted Green Flag

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The 3rd National Forum of Eco Shools Program was held on October 8-9 at the Friendship International Children's Center.
It was attended by some 330 delegates including teachers and students from over 100 schools in the capital city and aimags and officials of ministries and agencies in charge of environmental and educational affairs. They reviewed works done within the Eco School Program, exchanged experiences and defined future goals.
During the forum held under the theme 'We can change together' leading schools were awarded with the Green Flag, Silver Gerege and Bronze Gerege. The 1st school of Selenge aimag's Mandal soum, the school of Gobi-Altai aimag's Delger soum, Erdmiin Hotoch complex school of Sukhbaatar district and the 58th school of Ulaanbaatar were granted the Green Flag for their achievements in growing plants in their classes and greening the school environment.
The Eco Schools Program is an international program aimed at developing nature friendly practices through granting education of green and sustainable development, based on ISO 14001 standards, environmental management system to children, youth and local communities and through increasing their participation.
