“Happy Lunar New Year to all the Mongolians across the world! Lunar New Year – Tsagaan sar is a celebration of legacy, inheritance, kinship, communion and independence of our nation. This year, the novel coronavirus infection has spread in our neighbor China and many other countries around the world, resulting the loss of hundreds of thousands of lives as well as causing a great strain to the society and economy. Due to the high risk of spread of the coronavirus infection in Mongolia, every measure is being taken urgently by the government to prevent potential threats. But we shall not rest. Every person’s responsibility and involvement will play an important role to prevent from this dangerous virus.
I, Prime Minister of Mongolia, hereby would like to call for, once again, all people to organize their Tsagaan Sar’s ‘zolgolt’ – a formal Mongolian greeting online using modern technologies to not put the health of elder people at risk. Let us show how responsible people we are.
Happy Lunar New Year – Tsagaan sar!”
