Khovd aimag counts livestock
Economy | AgricultureUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ According a preliminary result of the livestock census by the statistical section of Khovd aimag, the province counted last year two million 905 thousand and 411 heads of livestock.
Among the animals, 21,836 were camels, 107,594--horses, 156,096--cattle, 1,098,929--sheep, and 1,520,986--goats.
The number of livestock increased in 2015 by 10.7% or 279.8 thousand heads against 2014. The number of all kinds of livestock went up 5.9-13.0% or 1.2-145.5 thousand heads. The aimag’s 16 soums augmented the number of animals in all kinds.
The number of goats accounted for 52.4% of all animals, sheep--37.8%, cattle--5.4%, horses--3.7% and camels--0.7%.
