National Emergency Management Agency and Ministry of Family, Labor, and Social Protection to Collaborate on Improving Occupational Safety

Ulaanbaatar, May 20, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) of Mongolia set an objective to ensure the occupational safety and health of employees, enhance the safety of operations, and strengthen discipline and responsibility in the workplace by 2025.

NEMA and the Ministry of Family, Labor, and Social Protection of Mongolia jointly conducted a nationwide inspection and provided consultative services aimed at safeguarding the lives and well-being of workers, promoting safe and healthy working environments, ensuring compliance with occupational safety and health regulations, and developing preventive strategies against industrial accidents, acute illnesses, potential hazards, injuries, and risks. Based on the inspection findings, the National Emergency Management Agency and the Ministry of Family, Labor, and Social Protection will formulate an action plan to address identified issues on occupational safety and health, and collaborate on providing expert advice and organizing training sessions.

Inspectors from the Ministry of Family, Labor, and Social Protection carried out assessments across 152 units, divisions, and departments under the National Emergency Management Agency. These inspections focused on the enforcement and application of occupational safety and health laws, regulations, and standards. Key areas of assessment included risk and accident prevention, workplace conditions, hazard identification and mitigation, specialized training and instruction, documentation of industrial accidents and acute illnesses, the use of personal protective equipment, regular medical examinations, and insurance coverage for employees in case of sudden incidents.
