Entrepreneurship Education Project Implemented in 29 Soums

Ulaanbaatar, April 15, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The “Entrepreneurship-Focused Socio-Emotional Skills for the Most Vulnerable Youth in Rural Mongolia” Project, aimed at providing personal development and entrepreneurship education to youth in Mongolia, was successfully implemented.


The Project was implemented by "Save the Children Japan" NGO in collaboration with the "Social Development Fund" and the World Bank between 2019 and 2025 across 29 soums of five aimags. Under this Project, training seminars on "School-Based Enterprise" and "Personal Skills and Entrepreneurship Education for Youth in Rural Areas" were organized.


The overarching objective of the Project is to enhance the personal development of children and youth in rural communities and provide them with the skills necessary to become competitive citizens capable of meeting the current and future demands of a dynamic labor market. For this effort, project councils were established in the target areas, comprising representatives from local stakeholders, the private sector, and parents. A total of 8,773 out-of-school and at-risk children and youth were engaged in Entrepreneurial Skills for Employment and Livelihood (ESEL) training were included in the Project, while 594 teachers received capacity-building training.


As an outcome of the Project, participating educators, administrators, children, and youth acquired essential personal development and entrepreneurship education, contributing to improved academic outcomes and enhanced preparedness for employment opportunities.
