Ulaanbaatar, September 13, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The Mongolian team won a gold medal at the 2024 “China Copper Cup” Overseas Enterprise Local Team Leader Comprehensive Management Skills Competition, held in Chifeng city, the People’s Republic of China (PRC). It was organized within the framework of the “Belt and Road” initiative, and held in nonferrous industry.

The Belt and Road initiative, launched by the Government of the PRC, is the largest investment-backed massive economic and trade project, and the training of skilled professionals is critical for its implementation. Therefore, the international competition aimed at enhancing the skills and abilities of team leaders in nonferrous metal mining enterprises has been organized since 2023.

For the second year, “Xin Xin” LLC of the "China Railway Group Limited" (CREC), a Chinese-owned mining company operating in Mongolia, sent its team to this competition. Among 64 participants from 13 teams from eight countries, namely Mongolia, Ethiopia, Papua New Guinea, Pakistan, Peru, Congo, Zambia, and Guinea, the five-member Mongolian team earned the gold medal in the team category. Furthermore, one member won a gold medal in the individual category, and four other members received silver medals. This accomplishment showcases the expertise of Mongolian workers on a global level.

The competition consisted of three parts: a theoretical knowledge exam; a presentation and debate; and practical tasks, all aimed at improving the skills of team leaders.
