Domestic Reserves to be Increased with Mutton and Beef Prepared for Export

Ulaanbaatar, March 21, 2024 /MONTSAME/. At the regular session of the Cabinet on March 20, 2024, a working group responsible for increasing the supply of meat prepared to meet the food needs of Ulaanbaatar’s population during the spring season and prevent price inflation made a presentation.


In connection with the presentation, the relevant individuals were tasked with studying and addressing the possibility of increasing domestic meat reserves by a certain percentage from mutton and beef prepared for international export by private sector entities and enterprises.


Brief news

- Taking into account the urgent need to clean up animal carcasses in rural areas, Minister of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia B. Bat-Erdene was instructed to allocate the required MNT 1.8 billion for the purchase of vehicles and equipment in some soum administrative offices within the approved budget for this year.

- It was decided to discuss and support the revised draft of the Law on Participation in Peace Support Operations and submit it to the State Great Khural.

- The Agreement between the Government of Mongolia and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on Air Communications, signed on January 23, 2024, was approved.

- A consular department has been established in the structure of the Embassy of Mongolia in the Kingdom of Thailand.

- It was decided to discuss the revised draft of the Law on Physical Education and Sport and submit it to the State Great Khural.

- A task force has been established under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia to prepare for the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), to be held in Ulaanbaatar in 2026.
