Number of Students to Study in Cuba Increases
PoliticsUlaanbaatar, September 18, 2023 /MONTSAME/. In the frame of his visit to
the Republic of Cuba, the Minister of Education and Science L. Enkh-Amgalan met
with the Minister of Higher Education Walter Baluja García and the Deputy
Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Ana Teresita Fraga.
The Cuban side announced that they are increasing the number of Mongolian students to enter higher educational institutions of Cuba to five each year. The Mongolian side also pledged to receive five Cuban students under the Mongolian Government scholarship program per annum. The request to enroll Mongolian graduates of medical institutes of Cuba in post-graduate training has been settled in the positive.
The ministers exchanged
opinions on launching joint research of young scientists in the areas of vaccines,
agriculture, and veterinary medicine. In addition to this proposal, the Cuban
side suggested to cooperate in the areas of food
security, environmental change, and renewable energy, and the two sides reached
to an agreement to work together in these areas.
It was agreed that the
cooperation in the above areas would have been started prior to the visit of
the Cuban President to Mongolia next year at the invitation of the Mongolian
President.
