President of National Assembly of Laos Arrives in Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar, September 7, 2023 /MONTSAME/. At the invitation of Chairman of the State Great Khural Zandanshatar Gombojav, the President of the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Xaysomphone Phomvihane has arrived in Mongolia for an Official Visit on September 7-10, 2023.
Member of the State Great Khural and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Security and Foreign Policy B. Enkh-Amgalan, Member of the State Great Khural Ch. Undram greeted the President of the National Assembly Xaysomphone Phomvihane, and other delegates upon landing at the Chinggis Khaan International Airport.
The President of the National Assembly of Laos is paying an Official Visit to Mongolia after 11 years. The Visit is expected to open a new chapter in the relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the Lao People's Democratic Republic. It is of high significance for Mongolia to continue to get Laos's support in Mongolia's bid to become an ASEAN dialogue partner and to join in regional integrations, such as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
As part of the Official Visit, tomorrow the Chairman of the State Great Khural G. Zandanshatar will hold official talks with the President of the National Assembly Xaysomphone Phomvihane. Furthermore, the President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa will receive Mr. Xaysomphone Phomvihane.
During the official talks and meetings, the two sides will discuss and exchange views on ways to expand friendly relations and fruitful cooperation between the two countries, particularly inter-parliamentary cooperation, and issues of mutual interest in the international and regional arenas.
Since the establishment of the diplomatic relations in 1962, Mongolia and the Lao People's Democratic Republic have maintained friendly relations, developed cooperation in numerous fields, such as trade, economy, culture, and humanitarian, as well as successfully hosted and reciprocated high and the highest-level visits.
