Ulaanbaatar, March 15 2023 /MONTSAME/. The State Great Khural of Mongolia (Parliament) has opened its regular spring session of 2023 today. We present some highlights from the opening speech by Speaker of the State Great Khural G.Zandanshatar.
- The spring
session will focus on legal reform against corruption.
- The
Government and relevant Ministers should pay particular attention to immediately submit the Bill on the National Wealth
Fund to the State Great Khural so that the parliament discusses it during the
spring session.
- Ethics is the foundation of a society free of corruption. Therefore, within the reform of combating corruption
and improving governance, the Bill on Civil Servants' Ethics and Discipline will be discussed.
- Mongolian
economy has begun to recover, overcoming tough challenges caused by the
pandemic and geopolitical tensions in the last three years.
- Even
though we are facing numerous challenges and difficulties, our future looks bright.
- It is essential
to take urgent measures for controlling price rise, which being kept in two
digits in the last 18 months and negatively effecting citizens’ purchasing
power and their real income.
- Our prime
goal is to become an exporting country by supporting the private sector, boosting
production and supporting the businessmen.
- Government
should be a regulator and supporter of the private sector as opposed to being a
contender or inhibitor.
- Economic,
political and social stability is crucial in Mongolia, as it is the base for
the development and essence of the security.
- The spring session of the parliament pays attention to intensifying legal reform to improve basic business competitiveness, investment and economy of Mongolia, besides overcoming current economic difficulties.
