Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Speaker of the State
Great Khural G.Zandanshatar yesterday received WHO Representative to Mongolia Dr.
Sergey Diorditsa and exchanged views on the current situation of COVID-19, potential
risks, and issues to be addressed in the future.
Speaker G.Zandanshatar thanked WHO for providing financial
and technical support and assistance in reducing the impact of the COVID-19
pandemic and strengthening national response and preparedness. He also said
that the rapid spread of the new variant is a matter of international concern.
WHO Representative Dr. Sergey Diorditsa noted that in order to avoid strong waves of the Omicron variant, it is necessary to improve border controls and test passengers arriving from Omicron-infected countries 3-4 times in 4 days. He also said that continuing the third dose of the vaccines would be more effective in preventing the infection.
