Cooperation with ITU in digital transformation discussed

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On July 14, Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador L.Purevsuren held a virtual meeting with Sylvia Poll, Head of the Digital Society Division in the Telecommunication Development Bureau of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to discuss opportunities for cooperation in information and communications technology and digital transformation.
During the meeting, Permanent Representative L.Purevsuren emphasized that digital transformation would help accelerate a landlocked country’s economic growth, outlining the government of Mongolia’s efforts to digitize government services.
The sides also had discussions about opportunities for cooperation in developing digital innovation ecosystems, digital education, smart cities and towns, digital agriculture, digital waste management and digital participation, and agreed to hold meetings involving relevant government organizations of Mongolia in the future.
