Chinggis Khaan Tourism Complex to have capacity of 4,500 visitors

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. During his working trip, Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene became acquainted with the progress of the work being carried out in the framework of the comprehensive project implementing on developing historical tourism in Khentii aimag, which includes the development of infrastructure for air and road transport. 


The most important project to develop historical tourism in the region is the ‘Chinggis Khaan Tourism Complex’ that will be established in Dadal soum, the birthplace of Great Chinggis Khaan, highlighted Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene.


The complex will be built with financing of USD 19 million from the Asian Development Bank as part of the Sustainable Tourism Development Project being implemented in 2019-2024. 


In the framework of the project, the Chinggis Khaan Tourism Complex will be established with a daily capacity of 4,500 visitors in Bor Tolgoi, Dadal soum, conducting landscaping work on the 295 hectares of area at the complex. Alongside constructing a 2.6 km road connecting the complex with Dadal soum, parking space with a capacity of 220 vehicles and 50 buses, 4.5 km power transmission line, and a substation will be constructed. Furthermore, a wastewater facility and a solid waste landfill will also be established. With financing from the private sector, the work to establish accommodation for tourists visiting the complex will be provided with all round support by the Government, and will begin to be carried out from 2021, noted Minister of Environment and Tourism N.Urtnasan.


Moreover, the general plans for Dadal soum will be developed in line with the sustainable development agenda in the project framework.


As a result of the project, a total of 2,550 citizens will be involved in comprehensive training, creating 130 new job opportunities and financially supporting 30 small businesses initiated by locals.


As the detailed blueprint for the construction of roads and establishment is projected to be completed in September 2021, the corresponding construction work will begin from the first quarter of 2022 and be completed in the second quarter of 2024.


                 

By putting into operation the Chinggis Khaan Tourism Complex, Undurkhaan-Dadal autoroad, and the international airport of Dadal soum of Khentii aimag will have the opportunity to annually receive over 200 thousand tourists, with a revenue of over MNT 150 billion, introduced Minister N.Urtnasan.
